The program empowers Community Volunteers through training and workshops

The Conservation Education program not only focuses on teacher training but also acknowledges the need for communities to understand and be involved in climate change mitigation activities on the ground. The program has now embarked on Community Reforestation Project at Komperi in Henganofi district, Eastern Highlands Province. This is a colloborative effort instituted by RCF with local communities through funding provided by Papua New Guinea Sustainable Development Program (PNGSDP).
Ten local communities have started planting trees with the aim of creating a pool of resources for local people and mitigating climate change.
